Elisha Allan
Elisha received her M.S. in Zoology from the University of New Hampshire (UNH) in 2008. Her thesis research with Dr. James Haney and Dr. Marian Litvaitis evaluated the use of the D3 expansion segment of the large ribosomal subunit as a molecular tag for New England freshwater copepods. After completion of her M.S. degree, she worked as a research technician for a population genetics laboratory at UNH during which she used restriction digests to determine species of rabbits from the Northeastern United States and collected genotype data for New Hampshire bear populations. Elisha's responsibilities at the Ocean Genome Legacy are to prepare samples for addition into the DNA repository, maintain OGL's shipworm aquaculture facility, and to assist and support general research projects. Her scientific interests are in ecology, evolution, systematics, and population genetics.
