Our Mission
OGLF stands for Our Good Living Formula. We aim to provide our readers with the most up-to-date, honest information about beauty products and trends. Beauty isn’t just about looking good, but looking good can help you to feel good, and when you feel good, you get more out of each day. By making changes to your everyday life, you can get the most out of your routines and improve your wellbeing.
By providing our readers with trustworthy reviews, information and tips, we hope to promote their health, wellbeing and success in all aspects of life. Our reviews are well researched to help you to decide which model is right for you. We also discuss different beauty trends in our blog, and answer frequently asked questions to help you to understand how to get the most out of your beauty products and routines.
Testing Our Products
To give you the most honest, thorough information about all the products that we promote, we put each one through extensive and specific testing. We first start by thoroughly researching the topic – reading consumer reports and speaking to industry experts. They help us to finalize our list of products to test. We are proud to say that we have tested each and every one of the products that we feature on our website. This takes place at our Testing Facility in Havant, UK. You can see a tour of our testing facility here.
Nearly all the products that we have tested have been purchased by us. A very small percentage have been given to us as a sample to test, but we only ever accept free samples on the understanding that we will write an honest review and reserve the right to not to feature the product on our roundup. We never accept money or otherwise, in exchange for a positive review and we only ever endorse products that we would happily use ourselves and truly believe in.
Charities We Support
The OGLF Team strongly believes in giving back to the community. We are proud to donate and support several important charities which are doing really amazing work. Please visit their websites to find out more about them or if you are interested in getting involved with them. These are the charities that we chose and why:
As we have discussed in a number of our articles, skin cancer is one of the most common types of cancer. In fact, primary cases of skin cancer account for more than the combined rates of new breast, lung, prostate and colon cancer diagnoses. A huge proportion of skin cancer is due to sun damage – in particular, exposure to ultraviolet radiation – which means that there are measures you can take to reduce your risk significantly. The Skin Cancer Foundation works to improve public awareness through education programs, teaching the value of prevention methods, early detection and swift treatment, aiming to reduce the incidence and ultimately the consequences of skin cancer. You can find out more about the Skin Cancer Foundation here.
The National Alopecia Areata Foundation supports people living with Alopecia Areata. This is an autoimmune disease that results in hair loss and emotional pain. It has three main programs – Support, Awareness & Advocacy and Research, and through these, it aims to find a cure or treatment for the condition, as well as provide support for those affected by Alopecia Areata and educate the public. It provides award-winning annual reports and newsletters which distribute the highlights of the programs. They work both with and for the community of those affected by Alopecia Areata – including family, friends, scientists and government representatives. You can find out more about the National Alopecia Areata Foundation here.
Cleft lip, with or without cleft palate, is the second most common birth defect in the United States. Thankfully, it is a treatable condition and surgery can greatly improve the health and lives of children who are affected by cleft lip and cleft palate. Operation Smile provides free surgeries for both children and young adults in developing countries, who wouldn’t have access to the treatments. They have carried out hundreds of thousands of free treatments, giving them the highest standards of care and safety. They were founded in Virginia, USA, and have brought treatments to over 60 countries. You can find out more about Operation Smile here.
Global Dental Relief delivers free dental care to children in developing countries – Nepal, India, Guatemala, Kenya and Cambodia. Teams of dental professionals, assistants and general volunteers provide free dental care and oral hygiene education to thousands of children around the world who are living in poverty. They have brought over 2600 volunteers and over $35 million in donated care to serve more than 170,000 children. They even follow up with the care after two years. They aim to transform lives and create a community through volunteerism. You can find out more about Global Dental Relief here.
The Rowans Hospice provides first-rate, compassionate end of life care to terminally-ill patients on the south coast of England, as well as empathic, practical support to their carers and families. Their help has extended to many people that the OGLF team has known personally, and we believe that the service they provide is second to none. Their care includes supporting people newly diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses, providing respite services for both patients and carers, end of life care both in the hospice itself or in the home, and even bereavement support after loved ones have passed. It is a fantastic organization which we strongly support. You can find out more about the Rowans Hospice here.
Chronic kidney disease affects about 14% of the general population, and in its early stages often has no symptoms. This means that it can go undetected until it is at a much more advanced stage and therefore harder to treat. Kidney Research UK is the UK’s principal charity dedicated to researching kidney disease. It aims to improve the quality of life for people who live with kidney disease and ultimately eliminate it. Kidney Research UK invests in clinical trials, supports research scientists and provides education to raise awareness of kidney disease. You can find out more about Kidney Research UK here.
How We Are Funded
